Privacy Policy & Cookie Notice

I. Cookies

A computer cookie consists of small pieces of data, placed on a user’s device by a web server. They perform crucial functions to help websites deliver faster, more convenient and personalised experiences. Our website uses cookies to facilitate your browsing, to remember the chosen display language, and to compile statistical reports on the website’s activity, such as the number of visitors and the pages viewed. You have the possibility of erasing cookies from your terminal at any time. Thus, by accepting the use of cookies on our website, you acknowledge their use.

II. Contact forms

We use the Contact Form 7 plugin to manage contact form submissions. We store user input data, along with meta information about the submissions, including the time stamp, the origin IP address, and the user agent (browser) string to help spam detection. We do not share the information for commercial purposes, or with other parties.

III. Comments

If you leave a comment on our website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. The comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. Thus we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

IV. Media

If you upload photos to the comment section, we advise you to delete the embedded location data (EXIF GPS) before posting them online.

V. Embedded content

Articles on this website may include embedded content by third-party services. If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Third-parties may collect data about you for purposes they have determined in accordance with their privacy policy. They may use cookies, track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Embedded content behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

VI. Rights of users

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase them. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to send us a message via our contact form.
